High Salvington Windmill

Welcome to the High Salvington Windmill website

High Salvington Windmill is an excellent example of a working post mill dating from approximately 1776.

The mill has been extensively restored and started to grind grain again in 1991.

Delicious teas and home-made cakes. Visitors can also enjoy a tour of the mill.

Souvenir flour is often available in our souvenir shop (although this depends on whether our millers have sufficient wind and time to grind).

Read more on our history and how our wonderful and knowledgeable volunteers have saved this windmill from dereliction and renovated this wonderful historic site.

Every year (2020 excepted) our mill takes part in National Mills weekend, sponsored by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.  In line with Government guidelines we are running limited numbers open days in the early part of the summer – until 19 July. To book a slot, click here.
